Introit: Do not be far from me, O Lord; O my Strength, hasten to help me. Save me from the lion’s mouth, and deliver me from the horns of the wild oxen. My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me?

Prayer for the Day
Almighty and everlasting God, You have sent Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, to take upon Himself our flesh, and to suffer death upon the cross, that all should follow the example of His great humility: mercifully grant that we may both follow the example of His patience and also, by Your grace alone, be made partakers of His resurrection; through the same, Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one true God, now and forever. Amen.
